Watermelon "Crimson Ruby" F1.
An early (70-80 days) hybrid variety from the Japanese breeding company "Sakata".
A plant with vigorous growth. The fruit is broadly elliptical, striped, with a medium-thick rind, weighing 10-14 kg, and featuring dark red flesh. Shelf life after harvesting is 45-65 days: excellent transportability.
Agrotechnics.
Grows well on sandy and sandy-loam soils. Excessively wet soils are unsuitable. The planting site should be slightly elevated, well-warmed, well-lit, and protected from winds. Crop rotation: do not plant in the same place earlier than after 4 years.
Sowing: Performed when the soil warms up to +15°C at a depth of 8-10 cm. Before sowing, seeds are treated in a potassium permanganate solution, then rinsed with clean water.
Seedlings: In the case of the seedling method, plants are transplanted when the threat of frost has passed, at the age of 3-4 true leaves.
Planting scheme: In open ground 140x100 cm, in greenhouses — 70x70 cm using trellises.
